Wiring Diagram
Sequence of Operation
Central Heating Mode
With the power on, the central heating control knob turned to the ‘On’ position, and the internal time clock and any external heating controls calling for heat, the following should occur:
Note: When the power is first turned on to the appliance, the Green mains illumination neon will not illuminate for approximately 20 seconds
1) The Low Water Pressure Switch is checked for continuity across Pins 3 and 4 on Block M1 on the PCB (Or 10 Volts AC On Each Pin To Neutral)
2) The Internal Time Clock is made (continuity) across both red wires on Pins 38 and 39 on Block M6 on the PCB (Note: The Time Clock Is Fed With 240 Volts AC Across The Brown (L) & Blue (N) Wires On The Back Of The Time Clock)
3) The Room Thermostat (if fitted) is made (continuity) across Pins 41 and 40 on Block M7 on the PCB
4) The Pump runs and is supplied with 240 Volts AC across Pins 45 (L) and 43 (N) on Block M9 on the PCB
5) The Fan runs and is supplied with 240 Volts AC across Pins 44 (L) and 42 (N) on Block M9 on the PCB
6) The Air Pressure Switch is made (continuity) across Pins 7 and 9 on Block M2 on the PCB (Or 10 Volts AC On Each Pin To A Neutral)
7) The Flue Overheat Thermostat and the Temperature Overheat Thermostat circuit is checked for continuity across Pins 6 and 2 on Block M1 on the PCB (Or 10 Volts AC On Each Pin To A Neutral)
8) The Gas Valve is energised with 240 Volts AC across Pins 50 (L) and 48 (N) and Pins 51 (L) and 48 (N) on block M11 on the PCB
9) The Spark Generator is energised with 240 Volts AC across Pins 52 (L) and 48 (N) of block M11 on the PCB
10) Gas Valve modulation at the Modulating Coil will be between 1vdc and 5vdc which can be tested across Pins 21 and 22 on Block M4 on the PCB. This voltage will depend on the resistance of the Central Heating NTC Thermistor.
After the Central Heating demand has ceased the following will occur:
The Pump will run for 30 seconds
The Fan will run for 60 seconds
Domestic Hot Water Mode
With the power on, the central heating control knob off the ‘standby’ position, and the hot water control knob turned to the ‘On’ position, when the hot water tap is turned on the following should occur:
Note: When the power is first turned on to the appliance, the Green mains illumination neon will not illuminate for approximately 20 seconds
1) The Low Water Pressure Switch is checked for continuity across Pins 3 and 4 on Block M1 on the PCB (Or 10 Volts AC On Each Pin To A Neutral)
2) The DHW Flow Switch is made (continuity) between Pins 28 and 24 of Block M4 on the PCB
3) The Pump runs and is supplied with 240 Volts AC across Pins 45 (L) and 43 (N) on Block M9 on the PCB
4) The Fan runs and is supplied with 240 Volts AC across Pins 44 (L) and 42 (N) on Block M9 on the PCB
5) The Air Pressure Switch is made (continuity) between 7 and 9 on Block M2 on the PCB (Or 10 Volts AC On Each Pin To A Neutral)
6) The Flue Overheat Thermostat and the Temperature Overheat Thermostat circuit is checked for continuity across Pins 6 and 2 on Block M1 on the PCB (Or 10 Volts AC On Each Pin To A Neutral)
7) 8) The Gas Valve is energised with 240 Volts AC across Pins 50 (L) and 48 (N) and Pins 51 (L) and 48 (N) on block M11 on the PCB
8) The Spark Generator is energised with 240 Volts AC across Pins 52 (L) and 48 (N) of block M11 on the PCB
9) Gas Valve modulation at the Modulating Coil will be between 1vdc and 5vdc which can be tested across Pins 21 and 22 on Block M4 on the PCB. This voltage will depend on the resistance of the Domestic Hot Water NTC Thermistor (Note: The PCB will also look at the Central Heating NTC Thermistor to monitor the primary circuit temperature during Domestic Hot Water demand)
After the Domestic Hot Water demand has ceased the following will occur:
The Pump will run for 3 seconds
The Fan will run for 60 seconds
